If you draw hair without the 3 dimensional shape of the human head in mind, it will lack volume and you risk chopping off a part of the skull.

You can see the “dry” version of the hairstyle used for this tutorial above.For the top part of the hair the main change will be less volume with the bottom clumps again hanging more downwards instead of curving to the sides.
