This change ended up being a game changer and we spent the rest of the day anchored in this spot.I hope this information is valuable to you in some way or another. So instead of making a big change, we made a small adjustment. We had more time to fish the second day but, the bite seemed to be a little slower. It’s well known as one of Utah’s premier walleye fisheries, but it also is home to some nice trout and some smallmouth bass. I had the opportunity to spend the weekend there with some friends recently and we caught a bunch of trout, walleye and bass. We fish the point as well as the cove.

Other parts of the shore are accessible from various unpaved roads or the view area at milepost 83 (just east of the US 40 bridge).

Here is how we did with each species:Starvation Reservoir is an awesome fishery located in northeastern Utah. Starvation Reservoir is crossed by US 40 about 3 miles west of Duchesne. This is a good spot for rainbows and you can even catch an occasional brown. It was pretty early in the year so the bass weren’t too active, but we were able to catch some nice smallmouth bass and some good size rainbows. Here are the baits we used to catch fish at Starvation Reservoir on our trip, and how we did with each one.Overall we had a successful trip and caught some nice rainbow trout, walleye and smallmouth bass. . Just by moving our boat about 30 yards was the reason we had so much success.I started the day off fishing a set up that had smaller leader.

We tried of few different techniques, but ultimately ending up just using green garlic power bait until we ran out. We fished around this spot for most of the night as well as the point just west and ended up catching over 25 fish. A buddy of mine’s favorite place to fish for trout is Strawberry Reservoir, But the last few trips out fishing was a little slow. Access to the State Park is from US 40 at the west end of Duchesne (one block west of the Conoco station). Best of luck out there.We caught several small walleye fishing a jerkbait. The size of the fish ranged from12 -18 inches. We caught some big rainbows and some small walleye here. The pontoon group fish in rabbit gulch with some fair success and were able to catch a some smaller rainbows.We caught over 40+ rainbow trout and a nice brown trout during our two day adventure. We had heard Starvation Reservoir was starting to turn and produce some nice fish, so we made a game time decision right before the Strawberry Reservoir turn off to drive a little further and try our luck at Starvation and it couldn’t have been a better decision.Starvation Reservoir is a great reservoir that provides anglers with some awesome fishing opportunities.
