The 4 c/t 7600k is good for low-threaded tasks but I was considering upgrading to a 3700x or 3900x now to get serious about my aforementioned interests. I ended up getting a 2080 Super at an insane price and it's been working with my 7600k still. Both are great for what I do now - gaming at medium settings with high frames on 1080p/144hz. I was thinking at least the MB and Ram won't be defunct as DDR5 won't be popular for a couple years.I currently experience FPS stutters in MHW and can not play demanding games if I have Discord Livestreams on another screen, which makes me think it's a CPU bottleneckNo one can know what zen 3 is like and only you can decide if it worth waiting depending on your needs. I upgraded my GPU but I'm holding out on my pitiful 4-core until Zen 3.Upgrade now. advertisement. I currently have a 7600k OC to 4.5 GHz and an EVGA 1060-6gb SSC. >> Anonymous 07/26/20(Sun)10:24:21 No. I'm waiting it out.

Thanks! There's always something better coming up, just get it now and upgrade later down the roadSo I'm running a 1700x and keep seeing the 3900x at £399. It’s not like a 3700x goes from 8/16 to 12/24, it will set I’ll be 8.

I'm also tempted to wait until the passively cooled x670 motherboards come out in the Fall! I know Zen 4 will probably be huge, 5nm, PCIe 5.0, DDR5 with 5GHz almost standard with a simple OC tool (high-end sticks will probably be 4666 out of the box) but I don't think I'll need that until 2025, at which point we'll probably have fully-modular systems and SFF will become the new standard...yikes that's an odd thought. There is a chance, however, that I figure out some sort of stop-gap upgrade to last until 2021, but who knows.yea, Zen 4 is only sane option. Zen 2 is amazing and if you keep putting off upgrades you’ll probably have the same dilemma next year.In your situation i think its good to just get zen 2.
I think they really pushed forward and became truly competitive with 3rd gen, will probably be a smaller jump but again I can't say. level 2 R5 3600 RX 5700 XT | i7 6700HQ GTX 1060 3G

If you need a CPU with very high core count for rendering or w/e then just get the 3950X (the 4950X probably won't arrive until much later after initial launch). If you had older zen then maybe would be better to wait.

Now that it's Feb.
It will be so much better that buying anything else is a waste of money.Grab a 3600 now and start streaming, then upgrade to your dream system with Zen3/ whatever GPU tickles your fancy then.Yes, good to hear this confirmation. Not sure if this sounds like a good idea, or I should just wait for Ryzen 4xxx. I'm hoping to get into games at 1440p/144hz and 4k/60hz, streaming and video editing for fun, and rendering and adobe programs for unrelated professional endeavors. Will be a solid option probably even when zen 3 is outIf you’re impatient, then jump ship now, there are a lot of used deals you can find on Gumtree and Facebook Marketplace. Now that Zen 3 has recently all been but confirmed to be compatible with AM4 and likely X570, I'm wondering if it's worth it to wait. No one can know what zen 3 is like and only you can decide if it worth waiting depending on your needs. For the GPU it's probably best to wait for a while to see what we get.And the 3600 is a beast of a CPU, I have AutoOC + PBO + BLCK OC'd to 102 and in Cinebench R20 it's not too far behind 2700x in multicore while beating 9900k in singlecore. Probably September. I'll be able to get my feet wet and learn the extent of how a 6c/12t works with what I want to do and get a better understanding of whether or not I need 8/16 or 12/24, etc. Probably not worth it, I guess performance increase will be about 10% max for PC users, the consoles have a locked frequency and the increase would not be worth the wait. I got my 3600X at microcenter for $159 and it's outstanding for the price. That's incredible!
