Jun 6, 2014 @ 10:25am killing all mutants/cannibals Hello at all :), is it possible to kill all mutants? and can i find the son in the alpha version? Mutants (A.k.a Cannibals, Grunts) are a tribal and primitive group and communicate with grumbles and growls. Beginning to think I imagined it.I don't think that there is a finite number of them unless they've changed it. First, this opponent prefers attacking player's buildings, especially when he is engaged in combat against regular opponents. Given most peoples experience with cannibals, going into melee seems counterintuitive. I don't even hear the horror music half the time I encounter one. In the current state however, we can't even kill some of the enemies so I think they are referring to a future release.A few months before the game was released, the Devs said there were a finite amount in an interview.EDIT: Unless they have changed it since.I haven't been really following development.I think its changed because I know from exploring the caves there are more than two octopuses and there's even a posted photo on this sub with more than two in the frame. If a player kills a lone Mutant, the rest of the tribe can remain unaware and therefore their stance remains unchanged. We know there is a finite number of natives on the island, but how many are there exactly? The devs have stated this; saying that it's going to be possible to kill them all and have the island to yourself and that they will not respawn. The enemies from this group are the most irritating in the whole game - they love to engage the player by approaching him, dealing a single attack, and retreating back to their original position. Mutants, previously called Cannibals, are the main type of enemy in The Forest. Second - this opponent often stays neutral, engaging the player only when he is provoked. From the Forest wiki page on Hostility: There are a number of ways to make the cannibals angry. To eliminate them, use a ranged weapon, but stay mobile. In the forest the cannibals do patrols at night and in the day. The other axes swing too slow. While I'm not exactly sure, I don't think destroying effigies increase cannibal hostility. If they are to lunge at the player, and the player swings their weapon, the attack will stop causing the mutant to stumble backwards. That's the only explanation I've got to mend the two theories.I'm glad i'm not the only one who read that interview about finite numbers. The death of a mutant, mutant, or animal in close proximity to the player may result in becoming splashed with blood and acquiring the "Mutants mourning their dead in an older version of the game Sometimes the enemies will take evasive action if they see the player as a threat; they might even run away completely or come back later with more mutants. Attacking groups of cannibals, or being attacked by a group and fleeing. That'll probably change, I don't know yet.I was planning non doing a restart soon to test this.
Regular cannibals are a standard enemy - they look the most "human" (more on that in the further part of this chapter), deal medium damage, and have average stamina.
