Trail is mostly well marked. The Greenbelt Trail Map is printed on 100% post-consumer waste paper. Most of the running/ hiking portion is seperated from the mountain bike trails. The Long Island Greater running Club has a 25K and 50K trail race every yearI mostly followed the white trail.

I had few bikers on the hike trail (inside the wood) for the challenge of it. This was very challenging at points. Eat it.

Around 5miles to my honking, ther was too many trails (white, red, blue, pink, yellow and orange). The trail has an enhanced system of safety crossings to warn trail users of traffic intersections, and alert drivers of vehicles to crosswalks. Of course due to the proximity to cars, houses and people, it's anything but serene, but it's a fun goal to accomplish. I grew up on the island and never noticed there were trails running along some main roads and behind people's houses. It's a pretty interesting trail. Nice detour.

It’s paved. A few people on the path, especially on the north section, roads had safe crossings, would def recommend to someone looking for a slightly challenging path on Long Island. Bike paths intersect but kept separate.Best up and down trail (Especially North Side) on Long Island. Nassau-Suffolk Greenbelt Trail is a 20 mile moderately trafficked point-to-point trail located near Woodbury, New York that features a lake and is rated as moderate. !Beautiful trail.

It was awesome! Very hilly. Not crowded for much of the way but extremely crowded once in Cold Spring Harbor State Park. Each day I found an adequate stopping place, where I could drive to and then pick up the trail, until today.
