We always went as a family with Dad in the lead! The wonders of Gloucester and Cape Ann are within easy reach by car or train. Roy Moore’s two locations are reason enough to visit.
No whale watches leave from Rockport directly, but you can take one from Gloucester, less than a 10-minute drive to the south.Hopefully, we can return to Rockport and Cape Ann in the near future to sample even more of the delights. As you can imagine, we took lots of photos!We were absolutely starving when we arrived, and the server gave us a generous plate of hot rolls and corn bread. they both did many paintings of Motif#1 and all around Rockport. My son and husband thoroughly enjoyed (each) a 2 1/2 lb lobster at Roy Moore Fish shack. In fact, did you know that until 2005, alcohol was not allowed in Rockport? I was born in Gloucester and my grandfather sold vegetables from a horse drawn cart (Soteros Vrachos) in the 1920s-50s. We felt right at home there and decided to stop back the next morning for some coffee and their famous donuts.The fish cakes were crunchy and flavorful, and paired with a delectable Old Bay sauce. Not only do they have great ice cream (about 40 flavors) but have a relaxing yard in back where one can sit and enjoy the view of the harbor, including Motif #1, the most photographed and painted picture in the country.You missed the number one desert store on the neck, Bella and Harvey!

It is a very beautiful areaI have been to Rockport many times in the past,always nice to go down memory lane again. See you in October!Rockport is an absolute gem and you did a great job presenting it. With the sweet crab meat, it was rich and memorable. One of my shipmates from Brooklyn, NY asked if I would take him to Rockport which I did with two others via train. My cousin was an artist, god rest his sole, and did several paintings of motif # 1 and other sites around the area.
