The Staten Island Greenbelt is a monument of natural resource preservation in a rapidly developing environment. Staten Island Greenbelt Trail is an easy, 3-mile hike that will take about 2 hours to complete with Fido. There were a few impassable spots of the trail, in sketchy parts of town. These parks maintain a huge variety of recreational, educational, and natural programs and facilities.

Cheat sheet to follow White trail over 10 street crossings: *The White trail starts at the Victory Blvd entrance to Willowbrookpark, follows the lake to your right, then past the carousel. You'll get a good work out. Make a right after the carousel into the picnic area or you will miss the trail. There are so many ways to ride it i have done pretty much all of them so have fun if ya get lost have fun it's happened to me me plenty..And remember not that many people in NYC or the boroughs really ride..so for the people that do enjoy...this is the Best riding within the city limits It is supposed to be Ilegal to ride here so don't get caught either...The reason why it is not that popular is b/c not that many people know about it...Spread the word maybe they will make it legal and maintaince it more often...Everything that I know worth going to in this area is about 1 hr away..Try Ringwood...or Saxon Woods..or greenbelt/Stillwell in L.I but get prepared to overhaul your bike after a ride in L.I. This was a fun enjoyable 7 mile hike thru the Staten Island Greenbelt. If you do, post it. Anyone know what there were? My advice is to do the yellow or blue trails which are actually nice trails, and check out the beach afterwards!It’s a good hike. Greenbelt Nature Center. This trail mounts from Staten Island Boulevard to one of the high- est points on the eastern coast (between Maine and Florida).
One of the best trails on Staten Island. It accessible by public transportation.I went on a Friday afternoon in July/2018, and only glimpsed one other hiker in the 4 hours I was hiking. Take the white trail to you exit on LightHouse road and hang a left go down to Rockland Ave bear left and enter the Yellow trail. This trail is one that kinda grows on ya after 4 or 5 rides you can get an exact 6.7 mile loop of very technical riding... after Staten Island got hit by a tornado on Labor Day of 1998 It uprooted and destroyed alot of trees...This storm destroyed my trail I didn't let it stop me "a jem of a trail like this, so close to my house gone"...I wouldn't let it stop me from riding.
