The 3600X on the other hand should probably be able to use more power than 88W so it might be misconfigured currently.Basically, you get a better stock cooler for the price difference. The power draw numbers explain what's going on: System power (140w vs 146w) during Blender, Package Power (87w vs 87w) (presumably also during Blender).
I can't decide if I want to grab the 3700x or just hold off since my 1700 does everything just fine. I'm actually surprised at how much difference there is. Oh it's definitely worth it.
