Main St. in the heart of Las Cruces — officially closed its doors Sunday, Jan. 27 due to low business sales.Dragonfly is giving away boxes of food products, preferably to food pantries that serve residents in need. Baker said the restaurant was good while it lasted, and she will miss all the memories. "Baker opened Dragonfly with her sister, Carin Kelly, with the intention to serve healthy food. Cleda and Jim Hawman began The Truck Farm west of Las Cruces by growing blackberries and producing a local line of jams, jellies and other fruit-based products.

"All of the firsts were fantastic. What is an Agrihood, one may be wondering? "We had great support from the community, but unfortunately, it was not enough to sustain," Tracy Baker, Dragonfly co-owner said. A life-long resident, he created the annual, local festival known as The Whole Enchilada Fiesta and has been a community leader for decades. We're heartbroken for our special leaders who have grown to love working here and even our big, hunky guys who would come in for beers and burgers. They have been growing green chile in the Mesilla Valley since 1930 and are now one of the largest suppliers of fresh Hatch Green Chile to retail outlets nationwide.

"It just wasn't meant to be.

They then branched out into chile-based products, like the Tia-Rita line of dishes.

"We have a lot of things to do right now; it's like moving out of a house," Baker said.The restaurant, formerly the site of Main Street Bistro, opened in September 2017 in the city's downtown.Baker thanked the community and her staff for supporting Dragonfly while it was open.
