For anyone visiting Watauga lake and planning on camping , I would thoroughly recommend Cardens bluff camp ground , It is one of the most picturesque campgrounds we have ever used .We were lucky in that we had booked months in advance and had chosen our site in a spit of land surrounded on 3 sides by the lake , really private and secluded .
